Division Meet and Train Show

Thank you for stopping by. The Turkey Creek Division of the NMRA is once again pleased to host our annual one-day meet. The meet committee is busy planning a fun filled day, including how-to clinics, model and photo contests, train show and swap tables and the center followed by layout tours in both the afternoon and evening.

Watch this space for more details on the clinics to be offered and layouts on tour.

At this time, I would like you to start thinking about coming to the show and participating in one or more of the model contests. In recent years we have seen a drop-off in the number of models entered in division and regional meets. Why is this? Do we no longer build models? Is it because we don’t believe we can win? Or do we need an additional incentive?

We know you’re out there. We know you still build models. So perhaps an incentive to enter is what you need!. For every model entered in the model contest, up to a maximum of 5, we will enter your name in a special drawing to receive a $50 gift voucher from a local hobby shop or home supply store. That’s 5 chances for 5 models. (Sorry not the photo contest) This is not a 5 model limit for the contest, just a maximum of 5 chances to win the drawing. We want you to enter as many models as you like. And remember division meet contests are popular vote, not NMRA judging. So you don’t even need to worry about the paperwork! The only exception is if you choose to enter a model and take first place at this year’s MCoR Regional Convention in St. Louis you will not be able to enter that model in the division meet.

Of course, for the NMRA members reading this page, we encourage you to keep working on the Achievement Program. Now you can enter that model, have a chance to win the contest or the drawing and by completing the paperwork get that next merit award. And for those of you out there who hate paperwork, Marty Vaughn, our own MCoR Achievement Program Chairman, is more than happy to help with the paperwork.

So start working on those models and of course return the registration form as soon as possible to enjoy the reduced registration fee AND a chance to win special advance registration door prizes offered by the modeling fraternity.
