Earl and Diane are owners of the D & EM Railroad. This HO scale basement model railroad goes through four rooms, around the walls with peninsulas, traveling 394 feet of mainline track and 480 feet of non-mainline track. The benchwork is 48 inches high. The track is Atlas code 85 and 100 Flex-track on cork roadbed with Peco turnouts. Set in the 1950s with a variety of towns and industries, this freelanced layout lends itself to running trains both for enjoyment or more serious operations. Scenery is both flatland and mountains of hydrocal over screen wire; with scenes named after family and friends. This layout is controlled using Digitrax radio-controlled throttles; all engines have sound.
