Modeling a Grocery Distribution Business

Douglas Harding

Western Grocer was one of the largest wholesale grocery distributors between Chicago and Denver 1901-1947. Based in Marshalltown, Iowa, they owned Marshall Canning with canning factories and pickle works located in several states. At warehouses in Iowa & Minnesota, they repackaged foods for their Jack Sprat, Mayflower, Brown Beauty and other brand names. They were served by the Minneapolis & St Louis Railroad. The clinic will look at the grocery distribution business with suggestions on how to model the same.
