The St. Louis Division turns 4Stephen Priest, MMRThis 50 minute clinic shows the progression of design by the presenter and how challenges faced in earlier layout design were met in a new railroad. These challenges include; new technologies such as DCC implementation, new lighting systems featuring LEDS, better locations for overhead lighting and longer and more linear design for the layout itself. Some time will be spent talking about keeping people working and how to manage their time so they have an enjoyable and productive experience working on the layout. A few basic techniques will be presented including backdrop and fascia treatment and sky painting. Overall design principles and "Big Picture" ideas will also be presented. |
